My dear friend Amber Schmidtke http://www.amberschmidtkephotography.smugmug.com/
took our family photos this year.
it was such a blessing for us. It is very rare for me to be on the other side of the lens. Amber made it fun :)

We all have a story to tell....A little over a year ago I had total knee replacement. I had a painful and prolonged recovery and am still in the process of adjusting to my new normal. I lost a job because of my delayed recovery and that reignited my passion for photography. I have been capturing moments and memories for almost 20 years. I have seen lots of trends, lots of fads come and go in this industry. One thing that remains the same even with the passage of time is light. It is always there, always present, even in what appears to be total darkness, light finds a way in. I have been seeking light for years, love it! I love the way the right light makes a beautiful child, angelic and the way the light changes the mood or the emotion of a picture.
I LOVE the art of photographing people. I love capturing the light in each person and helping to tell the story of the soul. It is not just "taking pictures" to me it is much more than that. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you.
We are all broken, that is how the light gets in
